Advaca was created in 2016 by the veterinarians at Mid-Maryland Dairy Veterinarians in Hagerstown, MD. For the past 25 years, MMDV has been working with dairymen to help them improve cow care and manage their welfare. As undercover videos began to reveal the need for better training of dairy personnel and increased oversight by the industry, we knew that veterinarians were the most qualified source of this expertise. Dairy welfare programs are the most effective and credible if the evaluations and audits are performed or overseen by practicing veterinary professionals with real dairy experience.
Advaca is currently managing dairy welfare and providing second party evaluations for East Coast milk cooperatives and processors with direct shippers. Our team is engaging veterinary and nutrition partners in the industry to help them work with the Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program and address welfare concerns. With our PACCO certification in dairy welfare, we are providing third party audits to customers who are looking to verify the welfare status of their milk supply and protect their reputation with the consumer.
