We believe that cows that are well cared for are healthier and more productive. Advaca can help businesses source milk from farms with great cow care and achieve their customer’s expectation by offering:
2nd Party Audits
We have the resources to help co-operatives and processors with direct shippers evaluate the welfare on the farms that produce their milk. We conduct evaluations and audits on farms and manage all the scheduling and follow up to keep the co-op in compliance with the national welfare programs such as National Milk Producer’s Federation FARM program.
Evaluator Training and Shadowing
For co-ops that choose to do their evaluations with their own staff, we provide training for the FARM program as well as oversight and shadowing services to help monitor evaluators and drive continuous improvement through accountability.
3rd Party Audits/Evaluations
Businesses that sell milk to the public have a reputation and name brand to protect. They need to be sure that the milk they sell comes from cows that are well cared for. As veterinary professionals, we can verify that the results of the evaluations from the suppliers accurately represent the conditions on the dairies.
Risk Management Planning
Developing transparent relationships and practices with suppliers revolves around the idea of “trust but verify”. With an extensive knowledge of the dairy industry and the challenges of managing welfare, we can help your business develop plans to minimize risk from welfare related incidents.
We believe that farmers that provide better care are more profitable.
Advaca can work with your dairy to help you improve cow care, productivity and efficiency. We analyze facilities to identify the bottlenecks to profitability and cow health. We work with your professionals in a team setting to solve problems, minimize risks and maximize opportunities. With our experience, we can help you take better care of your calves, heifers, transitional cows and milking herd and take better care of your bottom line.
